Volunteering: Social Concerns

Hunger Center Communion Icon

Hunger Center volunteers serve food every Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 6:00 PM. Teams are organized to distribute the work. Some help to prepare food in the afternoons, some serve, some clean up after the meal. Contact Judy Klobutcher through the Parish Office, 419-289-7224.

Prayer Network

Prayer network members receive an email asking the group to offer prayers as requested for the sick, the dying and for special needs. Members pray in their own way and on their own schedule throughout the day. Submit a prayer request to be included in our Prayer Network or if you are in need of prayer.

ACCESS: Ashland Church Community Emergency Shelter Services

St. Edward participates in the ACCESS program, a consolidation of faith congregations in Ashland County that share a weekly turn caring for families and individuals in need of emergency temporary shelter, meals and compassionate assistance. Volunteers cook and serve meals, purchase groceries, host evening social time, and help with driving guests as needed during our assigned week. Most importantly, volunteers are the human spirit of Christian hospitality, personal support, compassion and caring that families without homes desperately need.
