St. Edward: Completing the Vision, Building Our Future is an extension of a long-range building plan that began with a St. Edward School Addition in 1997, followed by construction of our current church and office complex in 2001.
This ''combined campaign'' is an opportunity for all those with a current or past connection to St. Edward's to embark on a new chapter in the life of our parish and school with a renewed commitment to good stewardship of all that has been entrusted to us.
The current St. Edward Parish Activity Center hall was built in the 1920's as a grain storage utility. While it has served us well for many years, repair and upkeep costs are significant and will continue to grow. A new facility is needed. The goal of the combined campaign is to fund the removal of current facility, land acquisition, construction for a new hall, repaving of the parking lot, design and fund raising costs.
Diocesan leadership has granted our parish the opportunity conduct a combined campaign so that we can create a Parish Activity Center to serve current and future generations of parishioners and school families. Our vision is to create a 12,000 square foot, handicapped-accessible addition to the school for:
- Adult and youth parish activities
- A junior high size gymnasium
- A full-size kitchen
- Four meeting spaces that can be utilized by parish groups, independent of school activities, and as changing rooms
- Accommodations for the Hunger Center and ACCESS Program (a cooperative arrangement with the Kroc Center) to better serve the needy through community outreach
- Additional parking near the church building
All parishioners are invited to participate in this appeal to ensure a lasting legacy for the future of both St. Edward Parish and the Diocesan Church in northern Ohio.
