Community Service Projects
Here are some of the many community service projects in which St. Edward students participate or have participated.
- Sixth grade students make a monthly visit to the Dale Roy School and assist Dale Roy students with an art class.
- Eighth grade students participate in an art class with residents from the Good Shepherd Nursing Home.
- Seventh and 8th grade students make Christmas decorations and give them to nursing home patients.
- Sixth grade students perform 10-20 hours of community service.
- Seventh grade students perform 40 hours of community service.
- Eighth grade students perform 40-60 hours of community service.
- Eighth grade decorates, serves lunch, and cleans up for the Mission Lunch.
- Students sing for shut-ins and other parish members.
- All grades participate in classroom activities that encourage helping others (such as sending cards and praying for the sick).
- Students collect hats and gloves for the St. Vincent dePaul Society.
- Students collect food for Associated Charities.
- Students collect shoes for the Ugandan Mission Trip.
- Students volunteer in the cafeteria to serve food, wash dishes, and clean tables.
- 2009 Mission Lunch raised $830 for the Almond Tree Shelter.
- Students attend, sing, and serve funeral masses as requested.
- Third grade completes an economic project and donates the money to the school.
